Regarding the Superior Court of Justice’s updated Notice to the Profession and Public Regarding Court Proceedings, Chief Justice Morawetz issued a Notice to Profession and Public yesterday.

In contrast to other branches of the Court, all matters currently coming before the Commercial List are proceeding virtually and almost all are proceeding without the need for Court staff to be physically present in the Court or its offices. Accordingly, and after consultation, Justice Hainey has confirmed that Commercial List matters scheduled over the period contemplated by the Notice (until May 7) will generally proceed as scheduled and not be deferred.

Unless you are advised to the contrary by the Commercial List Office, you should assume that any matters currently scheduled on the List will be proceeding as planned. Please pass this information along within your organizations and to our colleagues, as appropriate.
